  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

A very cute cardboard sleeve with an adorable design by Rebecca L Stewart inspired by re-imagining the band as pre-loved teddy bears.

These five tracks were recorded live at 3PBS FM's infamous Studio 5 during The Offtopics "Back on the Zine" campaign. The band were invited into the studio by legendary Melbourne Soul DJ Vince Peach and played the following songs:

    1. Kiss Me It's For Science
    2. Stepping Out
    3. A Man Needs Coolin'
    4. Funky Grandma
    5. Sunrise in Richmond

Because this was all done live at the radio station there are some quirks of performance which we sincerely hope you'll enjoy!

This version of The Offtopics included:
Linc Yow Yeh: Drums and Vocals
    Tim Webb: Bass
    Mark Bretherton: Keyboard and Vocals
    Omid Shayan: Saxophone
    Dave Sheehan: Guitar and Vocals
    Howard Norsetter: Trumpet
    Mark Shannon: Guitar and Vocals

lyrics

Stepping Out.

Riff to

Verse 1
Hey mister can you say
Have you any work today?
I’m a man on a mission
I need a commission

Give me the position

Chorus E9 slide on d note.
I’m stepping up
I’m stepping out
I’m stepping up
I’m stepping out

Verse 2
My baby wants more than new shoes
She says now honey you can choose
I got plans for me and you
Be smart, baby, don’t be no fool.

Chorus.

Bridge 1

This want ad looks like it was written in blood!
Fell in my new suit. Slip! I went splat in the mud!

Chorus

Bridge 2
C#m F#7
To Whom It May Concern
C#m F#7
I’m willing to learn
B
I’ll be standing outside at quarter to nine!
